Ultraformer III – Non-Surgical HIFU Skin Tightening

Targeted heating causes an immediate contraction of existing collagen fibres and triggers the natural process of new collagen and elastin production (neocollagenesis). This is why the tightening effect does not end on the day of treatment – the skin becomes firmer and tighter over the following weeks and months.

Ultraformer III uses cartridges for different treatment depths, so the treatment can be precisely adapted to the skin thickness and the area being treated:

• 1.5 mm and 2 mm – superficial skin layers, fine lines and delicate areas such as the eye area;
• 3 mm – the deeper skin layer (dermis), firmness and elasticity;
• 4.5 mm – the SMAS layer, the same supporting layer a surgeon tightens during a classic facelift;
• 6 mm, 9 mm and 13 mm – subcutaneous tissue of the body, skin tightening and reduction of small localised fat deposits.

Ultraformer III is used to tighten and lift the following areas:

• the lower third of the face and the jawline;
• the submental area and “double chin”;
• cheeks, forehead and brow lift;
• the eye area;
• neck and décolletage;
• abdomen, inner upper arms, thighs, the area above the knees and hips.

WHAT DOES THE ULTRAFORMER III TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?

The treatment begins with a detailed consultation, which includes a skin analysis, an assessment of the degree of laxity and agreement on the areas to be treated. The skin is then cleansed, an anaesthetic cream is applied if needed, followed by a thin layer of ultrasound gel.

The doctor places the handpiece on the skin and, layer by layer, delivers ultrasound energy along precisely defined lines. A facial treatment takes about 20 – 30 minutes, a combined treatment of the face, neck and submental area about 60 – 90 minutes, and one body area about 30 – 40 minutes. You can return to your usual activities immediately after the treatment.

IS THE ULTRAFORMER TREATMENT PAINFUL?

During the treatment you will feel brief warmth and a slight tingling where the energy is delivered. The sensation is stronger along the jawline, on the forehead and around the eyes, and milder on the cheeks, neck and body. Compared with earlier generations of HIFU devices, Ultraformer III is considered much more comfortable, and if needed we use an anaesthetic cream and adjust the energy level in more sensitive areas.

WHEN ARE THE RESULTS VISIBLE AND HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

A slight tightening can be noticed right after the treatment, but the real result develops gradually as new collagen is produced. The first visible changes usually appear after 4 – 6 weeks, and the final result is assessed after about 3 months.

The effect of the Ultraformer III treatment lasts on average 12 – 18 months, depending on age, skin quality, sun exposure, smoking and weight stability. To maintain the results, repeating the treatment once a year is recommended.

HOW MANY ULTRAFORMER TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

For most patients with mild to moderate facial skin laxity, one treatment is enough. With more pronounced laxity or thinner skin, a second treatment may be recommended after 3 – 6 months, while two treatments are usually recommended for body areas. You will receive an exact treatment plan at your consultation.

WHAT SHOULD YOU KEEP IN MIND AFTER THE ULTRAFORMER III TREATMENT?

Ultraformer III requires no recovery period, but the following may occur after the treatment:

• Redness and a feeling of warmth, which disappear within a few hours;
• Mild swelling, most often in the neck and submental area, lasting 1 – 2 days;
• Tenderness to the touch, similar to muscle soreness, which can last up to two weeks;
• Rarely, temporary numbness or small bruises.

For the first few days, it is recommended to avoid saunas, solariums and intense workouts, to use gentle skincare and daily sun protection. Make-up can be applied on the same day.

WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE THE ULTRAFORMER III TREATMENT?

The Ultraformer III treatment is not recommended:

• During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• With open wounds, active infection, severe acne or skin inflammation in the treatment area;
• For people with a pacemaker or other electronic implant;
• Immediately after fillers or threads have been placed in the same area;
• With autoimmune diseases, a tendency to keloids or healing disorders – these are assessed individually.
